"Green Hydrogen in Power Generation: Strategic Integration or Market Hype"

Synopsis

Green hydrogen has emerged as one of the most talked-about solutions in the global energy transition, particularly for its potential in power generation. Advocates see it as a clean, dispatchable, and scalable energy carrier that can complement renewable sources, enhance grid stability, and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. However, questions remain about its technical readiness, the maturity of production and storage technologies, and its compatibility with existing energy infrastructure.

At the same time, economic and policy considerations raise further debate. While investment momentum and policy support are growing, the cost competitiveness of green hydrogen compared to other low-carbon options remains uncertain. This session will examine whether hydrogen in power generation is a strategic integration with long-term viability or a market-driven hype. Through analysis of real-world case studies, policy frameworks, and investment signals, participants will gain a balanced perspective on hydrogen's realistic role in shaping the future of clean energy.
